Polyvidone K30 is pyrrolidone and acetylene under pressure to generate vinyl pyrrolidone monomer, under the action of catalyst polymerization of 1-vinyl -2-pyrrolidone homopolymer, white to Milky White powder, soluble in water, methanol or ethanol, very slightly soluble in acetone, insoluble in ether. Polyvidone K30 has excellent solubility, film-forming, chemical stability, etc., and is commonly used as an adhesive, solubilizer, sustained-release agent, stabilizer, etc.

Adhesive:The povidone K30 can be used as a binder for tablets, capsules and granules. It can be used for direct tabletting, with the advantages of hard, strong adhesion, and reducing the phenomenon of stripping. Povidone K30 has been used in paracetamol, ibuprofen and other preparations.

Solubilizer:The poorly soluble drug molecules are dispersed in the povidone K30 macromolecule through hydrogen bonds, making it readily soluble. Such as nitrofurantoin, chloramphenicol, sulfamethazine, etc.

Sustained release agent:By controlling the degree of association between povidone K30 molecules and drug molecules, the drug molecules can be released slowly after association, and play a sustained release effect. Povidone K30 has a slow release effect on penicillin, insulin, sodium salicylate, procaine and other drugs.

Stabilizer:Povidone K30 can form amorphous dispersed complexes with drugs to enhance drug stability.
