1. Product Description

Propylene glycol, also known as 1,2-propylene glycol; 1,2-dihydroxy propane; α-propylene glycol; methyl glycol; is a colorless, odorless, clear viscous liquid; and water, ethanol, chloroform can be any proportion of miscible. Propylene glycol is hygroscopic and needs to be placed in a cool and dry place for sealed preservation. 1,3-propanediol is an isomer of 1,2-propanediol, soluble in water, alcohol and ether, is a flammable, low toxicity compounds. Often used in ink, paint, lubricant, antifreeze and other industries.

Solvents and extraction solventsPropylene glycol molecules with hydrogen bond association, and water, ethanol, chloroform and other substances can be any proportion of miscible, as a solvent and carrier used in pharmaceutical, especially in unstable or insoluble in water.

PreservativeIt is applied to solution and semi-solid preparation, and has similar antibacterial and antiseptic effect as glycerin.

PlasticizerPropylene glycol is an important intermediate in the production of unsaturated resins, epoxy resins, polyurethane resins and synthetic plasticizers, and can be used as a plasticizer for water-soluble film coating materials.
