3. Product Application
Buffer:Tromethamine is a good buffer because it has a low UV absorbance, a stable pH, and is soluble in water, and is commonly used as a buffer for vaccines and antibiotics, such as mRNA vaccines. Tris buffer is widely used in biochemical research. Its common effective pH range is in the "neutral" range, such as Tris-HCl buffer (pH = 7.5~8.5) and Tris-phosphate buffer (pH = 5.0~9.0). The advantages of Tris-HCl buffer are as follows:
1) Because of the strong alkalinity of Tris base, it is possible to use only this buffer system to prepare buffers with a wide range of pH values ranging from acidic to alkaline;
2) the biochemical process interference is very small, not with calcium, magnesium ions and heavy metal ions precipitation.
Stable pH:The Tris HCl buffer system can be used in the gel to better stabilize the pH value, and the buffer system can also be formed with glycine to stabilize the pH value in the electrophoresis buffer.
Pharmaceutical intermediates:As an organic amine, tromethamine can form a double salt easily soluble in water with insoluble drugs with acidic groups. The representative drugs include fosfomycin tromethamine, dextroketoprofen tromethamine, ketorolac tromethamine, prostaglandin tromethamine intermediates, etc.
