Product Description
- Sodium benzoate is neutralized and refined from benzoic acid and an alkaline sodium salt. Sodium benzoate is odorless or slightly benzoin odor, slightly sweet and has astringent taste. It is stable in air, soluble in water, and its aqueous solution has a pH of 8.
Application Range
- As an antibacterial preservative, it is widely used in cosmetics, foods and pharmaceutical preparations. In oral preparations, the usual concentration is 0.02%-0.5%, and in the injection, the usual concentration is 0.1%-0.5%.
- Also used as a lubricant for tablets.
